The carriage of M1931 was very good for heavy artillery, because it can be towed with high speed by automobile and its horizonal traverse was wider. Naturally、 there was plan to applying this carriage to another artillery. The 152 mm M1910/30 howitzer was especially good for this plan, because its range was quite long. So the barrel was extended from the old howitzer. The combination of the carriage and the 152 mm barrel was accepted as the 152 mm ML-20 Howitzer. It was not used only as counter battery due to its long range second to A-19, but also put on direct firing missions against tanks and heavy fortifications and with greatly success. In later years, this gun was applied to SU-152 heavy assault guns as Red army sought direct firing and mobile artillery, and later also to the successor of the SU-152, the ISU-152.
In the early stage of the German invasion of the Soviet Union hundreds of ML-20 were captured by Wehrmacht. The gun was adopted by Germans as the 15.2 cm Kanone 433/1(r). From February 1943 Germans manufactured an ammunition for the gun.
Ingame the gun can be towed by a ZiS-22 truck. During the transport, two extra wheels are be attached. When dropped, the wheels are removed. It fired He or AP shells and can be used in battery with three or five guns. The gun proved to be a very good and powerful gun and can destroy a Panther with one good hit. Ingame Soviets and Germans are both using this gun. The Germans tow this gun with the Munitionspanzer IV.
