The FÉG 35M was a bolt-action rifle, chambered in 8x56R. Though superficially still resembling the 95/31M Carbine it was a new design. An easily recognizable distinguishing feature was the placement of the bolt handle, which was further forward than in the 1895 design. It was used by Hungary in the years leading up to and during World War II, and after World War II before being gradually phased out by both Red Army surplus and locally produced Mosin–Nagant carbines.
43M[]
As cooperation with Germany increased the rifle was modified to be more similar to the Mauser 98K and be compatible with accesories to it such as the Seitengewehr 84/98 bayonet, rifle grenade launcher (Schiessbecher) and the same stripper clips and ammunition. In Germany this rifle variant was known as the G98/40.
Sniper[]
Fitted with a scope mounted forward so as not to interfere with loading. Thus, it works just like standard version but has scope with magnification on par with other bolt action rifles. Reticle in the scope is the same as on the Mauser 98K
