The battle of Abyssinia erupted in October 1935 with an Italian advance into the country from Italian Somalia without an declaration of war and lasted to February 1937. It was one of the preluding conflicts to the Second World War. It was the succesful campaign by the Italians to finally occupy Ethiopia, the previous invasion attempt in the 19th century had failed and left the country independent.
Curiously, Ethiopia recieved aid from Germany secretly. At the time it was beneficial to keep Italy occupied in the war to put them in a weaker position to contest the German annexation of Austria. The British and French didn't intervene in Ethiopia, merely banning export of arms and proclaiming neutrality in the conflict.
Ethiopia[]
This map is the only map featuring Ethiopian forces, they use a plethora of equipment from various European powers, mostly French, but German and British aswell. Many 3.7 cm Pak 36 guns are stationed in various defensive positions, aswell as French 75 and 155 mm 1917 Schneider guns. They have little armour support with variations of the Renault FT-17 and Light Tank Mk VI. Due to lack of suitable voice sets they have the Canadian one.
