Built by the Scotstounista Yarrow & Co. in Glasgow, since March 31, 1938, the HMS Laforey was a British destroyer. It was send to the Mediterranean waters and took also part of Operation Ironclad and Force Q. It sunk on March 30, 1944 when the U-223 torpdo her. Only only 65 survivors out of the 247 are been save by the Germans. After that, the U-223 have been destroyed. The British HMS Blencathra, HMS Hambledon and HMS Tumult pick up the survivors of the U-223 crew and Laforey.
The ship ingame is a fast ship. The range of the guns is poor, you need to geth closer if you want to hit targets deep on land. The turrets can nearly rotate 180° to left and to right and the elevation of the guns are around +80°. There are no AA shells available for the six 12 cm guns. The ship got ingame the number G38, this is wrong.
On Gela Operation Husky, The Merville Battery, Juno Beach it provides fire support and due to the lack of enemy ships it has no torpedoes. There is a similar variant of the IJN Shirayuki.
