The Hawker Typhoon was a British Fighter-Bomber. It was built to be an interceptor in response to the newer German planes faced in the Battle of Britain and especially the Focke-Wulf Fw 190. It was far faster than the Hawker Hurricane that came before it. The first production model, the 1A mounted twelve machine guns caliber .303. The 1B variant had switched these for four 20mm Hispano guns. By 1943 its role was switched to ground-attack, fitted with bombs or rockets. The rockets were said to be especially effective against German tank columns. The Hawker Typhoon with RP3 rockets is similar to the Focke-Wulf 190 F-8 with Panzerschreck and can likewise effectively engage armoured vehicles.
