Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon Wiki

The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was designed as a heavy fighter and was originally intended to protect the German bombers from enemy fighters. However, the Polish campaign proved that the Bf 110 needed stronger protection, although it was quick and had a very strong bow armament from machine guns. They were usually inferior to smaller and more agile hunters in a dogfight. During Battle of Britain, 1940, it had a chance against the Hurricanes and Spitfires . They hunted 110th rather than other tasks as it was successful combination of fighter-bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. However, their greatest usage was as a night fighter: Bf 110 presented the backbone of the German night fighter squadrons, though they were also gradually replaced by larger, more powerful machines. It accounts for a large part of British bombers (nearly 5000) shot down over Germany.

In reality, this aircraft was used as a long range escort for bombers and as a heavy fighter. The armament of the Bf 110 C-4 is relatively good and the positioning of all the guns in the nose makes it easier to aim.

It is effective against nimble single-engine fighters, but when the other person knows his craft, Bf 110 displays its worst qualities.

The bomb load of the fighter-bomber variant of C-7 was reduced to two 500-lb bombs and the number of MG-17 increased from two to four.

This particular variant of the G-4 night fighter has the strongest weapons that you can find across fighters in Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon - the very impactful 37mm cannon, for example, used in the Ju 87 G "canon bird" against tanks. The ammo this weapon in Bf 110 is much larger and designed to combat heavy bomber. Along it there are 2 30-mm automatic cannon, that are very effective against all aircraft targets.

This combination is accompanied by four 21-cm Werfer-Granate, which also used in the 21-cm Nebelwerfer 42. A hit with this weapon is fatal for any bomber, however it is difficult to conduct aimed fire because of its low flight speed and highly curved trajectory.
