The Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet, designed by Alexander Lippisch, was a German rocket-powered fighter aircraft. It is the only rocket-powered fighter aircraft ever to have been operational. Its design was revolutionary, and the Me 163 was capable of performance unrivaled at the time.

German test pilot Heini Dittmar in early July 1944 reached 1,130 km/h (700 mph), aflight airspeed record. Over 300 aircraft were built, but the Komet proved ineffective as a fighter and was responsible for the destruction of only about nine Allied aircraft.
Tactics[]
How can you make best use of the Komet? Work as a team. A few guy's fly on non-Komet aircraft in the air, meanwhile the Komet stays on the ground. When they spot a bomber, they report it.
Maps like Bombing the Reich 1945 are pretty and when Flaks shoots on the target you can fly with the Komet to the direction Flaks are shooting. When you get aware of where the bomber is, take off and fly to the front of the target below the plane and shoot it. When its not down, stop using the rocket, turn and go behind the bomber above! Fall down and shoot without using the rockets (because you will fly fast that means you will have very limited time). The tactic is based on the real one the Germans used to attack bomb raids. Don't go far away! If you are haunted by enemy fighters and your fuel is nearly empty, they might destroy you.
