It is the Oldest Weapon Design in Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon, the Fusil d'Infanterie Modèle 1886, or shortly and better know as the Lebel, was the first designed military firearm to use smokeless powder ammunition. It entered French service in 1887 and its by this the oldest weapon design in Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon. The Lebel, however, had suffered from a design flaw. The tubular magazine under the barrel was a disaster. When they reload the bullet to fast, it can make an explosion. Although the better Berthier from 1916 was available, the Lebel remained, despite its weaknesses, the standard bolt rifle of the French Army during World War One and until 1937 when the MAS-36 rifle saw service in the French army. However, when the war brook out in May 1940 in France, the French army still fighting with Lebels against the Germans. And when the Germans captured those rifles, the Germans still used the weapon as the Gewehr 301(f). In FHSW these captured rifles only have spare ammunition to reload once. A Mle 1886 Lebel bayonet could be attached on the Lebel rifle. The Lebel model is originally made for the Battlefield 1918 mod, it got to FHSW from the FHT mod.
Gewehr 301(f)[]
Captured examples of the Lebel in FHSW have just enough spare ammunition to reload once, despite being loaded with individual rounds this is the case no matter how many rounds are left in the magazine. Anti tank kits with a random HEAT type weapon have this rifle and the M1 Bazooka. Notably Lebel rifles were issued to German garrisons in Normandy, France.
Did You Know That? The Lebel M1886's bayonet has the longest range from all melee weapons while the Cola bottle is the most powerful. |
Lebel with scope[]
During World War One, the French also equipped the Lebel rifles with a telescopic scope. This sniper rifle was less used during World War Two, but it saw service during that war! You can find this weapon only as a scout pick-up kit. Though, the Mle 1936 Mas is also available as a scoped rifle.
