The Nagant M1895 is a revolver first used in the Russian empire and continued to be used in the Soviet Union and other countries like Poland with parts of its territory being in the former Russian empire. The gun is used by some Soviet officers and by Soviet cavalrymen armed with the Mosin Nagant M91-30 in the mod. It is also the standard handgun for the Polish armed forces, including the Polish pilots in the Battle of Britain.

The gun was reliable which was one of the reasons to its long service life, but slow to load since each bullet was unloaded and inserted by hand. Until the end of World War 1 the revolver was produced both as single action or double action. Production of single action version was then discontinued. It fired an unique caliber and unusually for an revolver when it fired the gasses were kept since action was sealed, increasing muzzle velocity and allowing the gun to use a suppressor. The offical suppressor was a BraMit type and it was designed in 1931 and issued to reconnaisance troops and other specalists. The Mitin brothers would later design a suppressor for the Mosin Nagant rifle aswell.

The Nagant revolver was replaced by the TT-33 as the standard handgun which had several advantages, it used the same cartridge as the submachine guns, was semi-automatic and loaded with 8 round magazines. One advantage the Nagant revolver still had in armoured vehicles was that the revolver barrel is slimmer and thus easier to fire through a pistol port, the end of the TT-33 is larger since the barrel is covered by the slide.

Captured examples of the Nagant revolver were used by Polish armed forces and but due to additional demand by the police new guns were also produced. These were slightly lighter with a shorter barrel and later the sights were changed. These new production runs would be designated wz. 30 and wz. 32 respectively.

The Nagant M1895 model has been brought from the Battlefield 1918 mod through a content trade agreement. It is an older model since it has a rounded front sight which was feature on all that were produced before the 1930s.
