The No.101 class landing ship was a class of amphibious assault ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) and Imperial Japanese Army (IJA), serving from 1944 and after World War II. The No.101 class was equipped with diesel engines, while the similar No.103 class landing ship was equipped with a turbine engine. The IJN called them 2nd class transporter . The No.103 class has the IJA's SB craft variant. This article handles them collectively. These ships are the equivalent to the LST-1 Class used by the allies. They supercede the Tsurumi class ships used as improvised landing ships in FHSW.
In FHSW the No.101, No.102, N0.127, No.128, No.149, and No.150 are grouped together. They have a speed of 13.4 knots and are loaded with four Chi-Ha tanks. Though at Adak Island No.101 has two Type 92 Jyu-Sokosha and two short barrel Chi-Ha tanks. The No.103, and No.104, No.110, No.144, No.153, No.172, No.175 and No.176 all have a speed of 16 knots. No.103 to No.172 have two Chi-Ha tanks and Type 94 trucks. No.175 and No.176 weren't completed during the war and have the Chi-Nu Kai II. No.175 has four of them and No.176 has two and then two Type 1 Ho-Ki APC with spawnpoints. No.175 reinforces the Japanese at Iwo Jima.
