The O-I super heavy tank was a proposed tank model that never went into production. A planned japanese tank that is more than able to take on the late-war tanks of the allies. Another role that it was designed for was to act as an mobile bunker which would be more useful than static bunkers that could be lost or be worthless if out of range. Needless to say it is the heaviest japanese ground vehicle.

The need for a heavy breakthrough tank had been felt as early as 1939 after the Battle of Khalkin Ghol, with vaining priority as years went on. Since the japanese sought to defeat others before a potential campaign into the Soviet Union. Likewise, the Soviets were on the offensive again in Asia only after the war in europe had been concluded.

It appears on custom maps Asagiri, Kanto Plain and other custom maps.

This tank is similar to soviet multi-turret tanks such as the T28 and T-35, but much heavier in both armament and armour. The main turret is outfitted with the heavy Type 96 15 cm Howitzer that deals a lot of damage. There are two turrets on the front of the tank with 47mm guns, same as the one fitted on the Type 97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha medium tank. One turret in the back with twin machine guns that are fired at the same time can engage infantry or trucks and lightly armoured vehicles. Frontal armour is 150mm in total, consisting of two 75mm plates.

Its size is roughly that of the Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus being about as tall and long, but wider than it. Though the main turret of the O-I is much smaller and general shape of the vehicle is less square.

The Type 5 15 cm SPG Ho-Chi has the same gun but does not have the armour to face off against other tanks.

A further development of the Super Heavy Tank concept, albeit its existence even on blueprints is debatable. This variant has a main gun better geared against armoured vehicles with higher penetration and a longer range.

Also called the "Iwakuro 100 ton" as it is said that Colonel Hideo Iwakuro supervised its development.

Only artist renditions of it are available, of which there are minor differences in design. The only difference ingame between the O-I and O-Ni is the turret and armament in said turret. The two turrets in the front are also different, but have the gun and ammo capacity as the previous model. The new turret shape is similar in design to the later wartime tanks.
