"Kangaroo" type vehicles were armoured vehicles converted into armored personnel carriers, this was first done by Canadians modifying the M7 Priest and conversions of M3 and M5 Stuart, M4 Sherman and the Canadian "Ram" Cruiser tank followed. The main reason was the lack of M3 Half-tracks and Universal Carriers. The M7 Priest Kangaroo first saw use during Operation Totalize in Normandy. The British called these vehicles "defrocked" Priests. Besides removing the gun and the ammo stowage for it some armour could be added during the conversion
The Priest Kangaroo is mostly reserved for the Normandy campaign, it is used by the Canadians at the Liberation of Caen and the British at Operation Goodwood in the game. It is a relatively poor vehicle. Only the driver is fully protected, there are only two passenger seats and an exposed mg position. Though, it is possible to move around, crouch or go prone in the open passenger space. Unlike most APC vehicles it can not act as a mobile spawn point. So, it is meant to be used aggressively.
