The Volkswagen Type 82, which soldiers called "Kübelwagen" (literally translated as "tub truck", for its resemblance to a metal bathtub on wheels), was based on the so-called KdF-Wagen (forerunner of the Volkswagen Beetle), with which the Nazis intended to accelerate the mass motorization in Germany. The only thing that was eventually motorized masse, however, was the German Army, which used this robust and indestructible military vehicles in a variety of purposes throughout the war on all fronts.
A real "Jeep" was not really a jeep: it didn't have all-wheel drive, рфв a much smaller and weaker engine and also not such a big ground clearance such as the American Willys MB. Nevertheless, the Kübelwagen with its only 1.1-liter, 25 hp air-cooled boxer engine payable proven both at 50 degrees in the desert of North Africa and in minus 40 degrees in the Russian winter. The special on this Kübelwagen was a self-supporting steel body, which made the car very light, as could be done without a frame. Whole empty weight was 750 kg , so, despite low horsepower, the VW Type 82 achieved a top speed of 80 km/h.
Originally the Kübelwagen was used by both the Germans and Japanese in Battlefield 1942, later the Type 95 "Kurogane" was added. In FHSW there are three more detailed models of the Kübelwagen ingame, the regular one used in europe from France to Russia, the DAK variant is used in North Africa and a Monster truck version only found on Adak Race and test maps. All of these were made by the Forgotten Hope Developer Rad and the first two mentioned models are still used in the Battlefield 2 mod Forgotten Hope 2.

The "King Kubel" appears exclusively on Adak Race, there are similar versions of the GAZ-67 and Willys MB.
