Wake Island is a iconic map first featured in Battlefield 1942 and the sole map available in the demo version. It has been in several of the Battlefield games.
The map was changed significantly in Forgotten Hope compared to other BF1942 maps on which the FHSW version builds upon. In FHSW there is also Wake Night, set later in the war and at night.
This map is the first map to be a ground battle between the US and Japan. The Japanese invasion began just a day after the fatal strike at Pearl Harbor. The fight is between both nation's marines, the US still wear the brodie style of helmet like the first world war. SNLF wear green uniforms and have foliage on their helmets.
